Snowmaking systems MND Snow

Pioneers in snowmaking, recognised worldwide

MND Snow is a world-renowned player in the snowmaking industry and supports its customers throughout the world to ensure the snowmaking of their ski areas. Thanks to unique technologies and customer-focused developments, we offer the most comprehensive range on the market, combining operational performance and energy efficiency.

Snowmaking systems:

  • To make snow you need snow making machines (snow guns). But this is just the tip of the iceberg, because a snow cannon needs:

    Water at a certain pressure
    Electricity
Compressed air (sometimes the gun generates its own compressed air)
Communication system with the management software (in the case of automatic installation)

  • The snow gun is therefore connected to what is called a “snow shelter“ or “field connection point”, which provides it with at least water and electricity, and in some cases compressed air.

  • Pressurized water and compressed air are created upstream by one (or more) machine rooms. We distinguish:

    Pumping stations: which provide water
Compressor stations, which supply compressed air.

  • The air used by the compressors is captured directly in the ambient outside air.

On the other hand, pumps need to be supplied with water (this is called water resources). This may be:

    A lake
    A tank
    A river
    A pipeline …

Water sometimes needs to be cooled and/or filtered before being injected into the system.

  • Electricity comes from electrical transformers which will supply the energy necessary for the machine rooms but also for the snow guns (we are talking about power resources).

  • All system components (pumps, compressors, cannons, valves, etc.) can be managed:

Manually (we speak of manual installation)
Automatically (we speak of automatic installations)

It is a PC which communicates with all the components of the system and guides their operation according to the parameters which have been entered by the operator.

Communication can be by cable, fiber optic or radio.

  • The network is the set of pipes and cables that connect all the elements together.

Unlike all that has been mentioned before, the networks are made of industry standard components, and therefore are not specific to snowmaking systems.

This part is necessarily subcontracted and sometimes even does not form part of what MND realizes as works.

MND SNOW SOLUTIONS:

MAKALU

  • Thebiggestsnow producer(upto 102 m3/h). Performance and easy maintenance with 80nozzles.

PEAK +

  • Outstanding performance at low pressure and marginal temperatures. Starting pressure 8 bar. Full capacities from 15 bar.

SUPER ACCESS 300

  • The 300 nozzles create extremely fine droplets with pressures from 8 bar, which guarantees excellent performance levels at low pressures and marginal temperatures.

TAURUS 2.0

  • The first stick gun on the marketwith 8 stages for an optimization ofthe snow production and unmatched snow quality, even atvery marginal temperatures.

STREET 2.0

  • The straight, central spray provides the narrowest snowdepot (less than 10 m) in all the guns on the market. No more snow losses!

IZO°

  • IZO° is a new-generation fan gun, featuring exceptional performance at marginal temperatures (-1°C to -4°C), with increased production of more than 30% compared to a standard model. Its design allows it to operate optimally even at low pressures, from 10 bars.

    Strengths

#1 Maximum performance, even at marginal temperatures

It guarantees quality snow production even when conditions are less favorable. Its ability to maintain high output at marginal temperatures ensures strategic snow cover in all key areas of the ski area. Production increases by up to 30% compared to a standard snow gun!

    #2 Energy efficiency and sustainability

Designed to maximize energy efficiency, it optimizes resources to produce more while maintaining controlled consumption. Its robust steel construction provides exceptional longevity, ensuring a reliable, durable, and long-lasting solution.

#3 Ease of operation and easy maintenance

Designed for snowmakers, our new fan-assisted snow gun is fully automatic, using Snow-cs monitoring software. Its design provides quick access to its main components. This simplifies inspection, maintenance, and adjustment operations, reducing downtime and increasing seasonal productivity.

TAURUS PRO

  • Strengths

    #1 Eight production thresholds

Wide range of flow rates and consistent snow quality. The eight production thresholds ensure performance in marginal temperatures and unrivalled production in low temperatures, while guaranteeing consistent snow quality during variations in temperature.

    #2 Integrated valves

The head of the TAURUS PRO simplifies the process

of managing different flow rates by concentrating the features and creating a single water channel through the body of the stick gun.

#3 Up to 30% more snow

The TAURUS PRO is the first stick gun in the market to offer eight production thresholds. On average, it is capable of producing 30% more snow by adapting production to each degree of temperature. This design also guarantees greater consistency in terms of snow quality during swings in temperature.

TAURUS LINE

  • When it comes to stick guns, TAURUS Line is in a class of its own. The directional central jet limits the width of the snow cover. This stick gun is the ideal solution for ensuring that the snow is always where it is needed, whether paths, trails or narrow slopes.

    • Compact, lightweight and effective

    • Controlled snow cover

    Strengths

    #1 Compact, lightweight and effective

Tipping the scales at a mere 57 kg and standing 8.5 m tall, the TAURUS Line stick gun is both discreet and easy to use, so it is ideal for trails and narrow slopes where space is at a premium.

#2 Central jet for controlled snow cover

The nozzles are arranged along a single line, which reduces the snow cover width to 5 metres, compared to 15 metres or more for traditional stick guns. This system avoids any wasted water or energy, while making life much easier for snow groomer operators.

TAURUS ADVANCED

  • The Taurus Advanced stick gun, a direct evolution of the Taurus 2.0, is equipped with three rows of nozzles and a 160° coverage angle.

It pushes the limits of snowmaking at marginal temperatures. It delivers up to 40% more snow from the start, while integrating seamlessly with existing installations. This technology is designed for short weather windows and demanding ski areas.

    • 3 rows of nozzles, 160° coverage

    • Up to 40% more snow from the start

BLIZZARD FACTORY

  • Compact design, efficient cooling system & affordable price. affordable, The BLIZZARD FACTORYhas it all.

SOFT SNOW: THE MANAGEMENT OF AN AUTOMATED SNOW NETWORK

SNOW-cs

As a precursor in the automated control of snowmaking installations with the deployment of the first dedicated software in 2002 (GSSystem), MND SNOW has completely renewed its operating software.

Resource optimization, real-time monitoring, intelligent snow scheduling… As many historical options reinvented as new ones such as 3D viewing for a more efficient management of the park.

This new software was tested this winter at our partner customer Lans-en-Vercors and can be deployed at our customers for the 22/23 season.

That’s why MND SNOW QUALITY offers a number of advantages over the competition:

MORE EFFICIENT SNOWMAKING

LONGER LIFE SPAN

EASIER AND CHEAPER MAINTENANCE

AND REDUCED ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT
